Honoring National VFW Day with a Patriot’s Tea

Honoring National VFW Day with a Patriots Tea

National VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Day is observed annually on September 29th in honor of the men and women who have served their country in the military. One way to honor these brave individuals is with a patriot’s tea. In this post, we’ll share some ideas on how to observe National VFW Day with tea and pay tribute to our veterans.

Choose Your Tea
Selecting the right tea is an important part of any tea celebration. To keep with the theme of patriotism, consider serving a tea that features American-grown tea leaves. For instance, teas grown in the southeastern part of the United States, such as South Carolina, are known for their full-bodied flavor and unique character. You can also opt for teas that include American-grown herbs or fruit, such as lemon or blueberries.

Decorate Your Tea Table
A great way to honor National VFW Day with tea is by putting together a patriotic tea table. You can decorate your tea table with American flags, red, white, and blue flowers, and themed placemats or tablecloths. Additionally, you could use tea cups featuring patriotic designs such as the American flag, the Statue of Liberty, or an eagle.

Serve Patriotic Snacks
Tea is always better when served with delicious snacks. Include a range of savory and sweet treats that honor the occasion. For example, make a classic picnic snack of deviled eggs decorated with blue and red dye, display cupcakes decorated with American flag frosting, or create sandwich platters inspired by the military branches of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Don’t forget to include a special treat for our canine friends who are also heroes, our military working dogs.

Remembrance
One way you can honor our veterans during your National VFW Day tea celebration is by including a moment of remembrance. You could pause for a moment of silence to pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Additionally, you could also include a short reading or prayer of thanks for their bravery and dedication in protecting our country.

National VFW Day is an important time to remember and honor the men and women who have served in America’s military. Celebrating with a patriot’s tea is a unique and thoughtful way to show support and admiration for our veterans while sharing a memorable time with family and friends. By selecting American-grown tea, decorating the tea table in patriotic colors, serving up patriotic snacks, and including a moment of remembrance, you’ll create a heartfelt and fitting tribute on this special day.
